About

Emily founded I Do Paws after her own wedding in 2016, when she discovered how complicated it was to include her dog Ace as the dog of honor. As a veterinary nurse, she knew she was the right person to solve that problem. What started in Adelaide has grown to include branches in Melbourne and the Sunshine Coast, with a team of fellow vet nurses who bring the same professional care to every wedding they attend.

How It Works

A free meet-and-greet before the wedding lets Emily or her team get to know your dog and understand their personality and triggers. On the wedding day, your dog is picked up from home, transported to the venue, and given 30 minutes to settle in and greet guests before the ceremony begins. The chaperone stays as long as needed — managing potty breaks, treats, water, and photo moments throughout — and returns your dog home at the end of the night.

2026 and 2027 dates filling up fast. $200 non-refundable booking fee required to confirm date.

What Sets Them Apart

  • Every chaperone is a qualified veterinary nurse — not just an animal lover, but a credentialed professional trained to handle medical situations and behavioral stress.
  • Police checked and insured, giving couples complete peace of mind about who is caring for their pet on one of the most important days of their lives.
  • Pre-wedding training sessions teach your dog to walk down the aisle, deliver rings, pose for photos, and greet guests calmly — roles that require preparation, not improvisation.
  • Transport to and from the venue is included in hourly packages, so your dog arrives stress-free and goes home safely after the celebration.
  • Three city branches (Adelaide, Melbourne, Sunshine Coast) with a team of vet nurses means the service travels with you across South Australia and Victoria.

Frequently Asked Questions

What makes I Do Paws different from hiring a friend to manage our dog at the wedding?

Every member of the I Do Paws team is a qualified veterinary nurse — trained to recognize and respond to stress, handle behavioral challenges, and keep your dog safe in a busy, unfamiliar environment. They are also insured and police checked, which a friend cannot offer.

Can I Do Paws also care for my dog after the wedding while we're on our honeymoon?

Yes. They offer a Honeymoon Service where they can house-sit in your home with your dog, or transport your pet to a boarding kennel after the wedding if you prefer.

Do they only work with dogs, or can other pets be included?

Based on the content available, I Do Paws focuses on dogs. Reach out directly to discuss whether other pets can be accommodated for your specific situation.
