About
Avery Dobson founded Hounding Around in Portland out of a passion that started with borrowing friends' dogs for off-leash hikes. She has built a science-based training practice working with dogs of all ages, breeds, and temperaments, and holds pet first-aid certification. Hounding Around is LGBTQ+ and woman-owned, and gives back to impactful animal rescue organizations through a volunteer hour for every hour booked.
How It Works
Avery coordinates ahead of time with your wedding planner and photographer to map out your dog's schedule for the day. During the ceremony and other moments when your dog isn't needed, she keeps them exercised and calm rather than just waiting around. When it's time for photos or your dog's special moment, she has them ready — focused, happy, and exactly where you need them.
