About
Brody Kahale grew up surfing in Pacific Beach with his family's golden retriever riding shotgun on every dawn patrol. After years of friends asking him to watch their dogs at beach weddings, he turned his natural talent into Gnarly Paws Wedding Co. in 2022. When he's not wrangling ring bearers, he's coaching youth surf lessons with his current sidekick, a rescue pittie named Kona.
How It Works
Brody starts with a "Stoke Session" video call to meet your dog and talk through the day. A week before the wedding, he does an in-person beach walk with your pup to build trust. On the day, he picks up your dog, gets them fitted in their wedding outfit, and handles everything from the ceremony walk to the last photo — then drops them home or keeps them overnight so you can enjoy the afterparty.
Weekends book fast May through October. Early morning ceremonies preferred — the dawn patrol energy is unmatched.

What happens if my dog gets nervous during the ceremony?
Brody reads dog body language like he reads waves — if your pup is stressed, he'll calmly walk them to a quiet shaded spot for a reset. Every dog gets a pre-ceremony beach walk specifically to work out jitters before the big moment.
Can you handle a beach wedding where my dog might get sandy or wet?
Beach weddings are Gnarly Paws' specialty. Brody brings towels, fresh water, paw wipes, and a portable shade setup. He's managed dogs at Coronado, La Jolla Shores, and Sunset Cliffs — sand and surf are part of the package.
Do you transport my dog to and from the venue?
Yes — round-trip transport is included in The Pipeline and Endless Summer packages. Brody picks up from your home or hotel in a dog-friendly vehicle with a secured crate, water, and treats for the ride.
